Hello, My name is Andy Powell, The owner, and creator of the IDLH Tactical Worksheet®. As a District Chief/Shift Commander, Incident Command is not only my job but my passion. The IDLH Tactical Worksheet® was developed after many years of teaching Incident Command in the CTC. It was soon recognized that the fire service and individuals were all over the board on keeping accountability in the IDLH environment and that their system would change based on the incident. Changing your system from incident to incident creates a training issue and sets the incident up for failure. After many years and thousands of scenarios in the CTC, the IDLH Tactical Worksheet was developed. Based on your feedback, the IDLH Tactical Worksheet is continually updated to ensure your department can keep accurate accountability in the IDLH environment.
Thank you so much for the support from my department and all the individuals that have contributed to the board and continue to assist in making Accountability in the IDLH a priority.
I have been in the fire service for 22 years and have held numerous positions; Lieutenant, Captain, Safety Officer, Training Officer, Battalion Chief, and currently District Chief/Shift Commander. As a Shift Commander, I oversee all operations of A-shift, which includes 30 stations, 5 battalions, and 200 A-shift personnel.
I developed and manage the Command Training Center overseeing all aspects of Incident Command Training.
I have an MBA in Project Management and hold numerous certifications, including Blue Card Instructor and ICS 400.
